About the event
Her Climb formally launches its inaugural cohort on Monday, July 6, 2026, with an Opening Ceremony at Columbia University's World Room in Pulitzer Hall.
This is the first day of a multi-year leadership journey for 16 young women from public schools across the Bronx, Harlem, Washington Heights, Corona, and Far Rockaway. They are daughters of immigrants, first-generation college-bound students, and young women who have been showing up for their families and communities long before anyone showed up for them.
On July 6, we show up for them.
The ceremony will feature remarks from Dean Jelani Cobb of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and will mark the official beginning of Her Climb's inaugural Summer Intensive. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the Her Climb team, board members, and the girls themselves.
