What is it?
Her Climb Bridge Weekends are recurring, single-day experience that brings Her Climb's philosophy of leadership, access, and wellness directly to NYC public school students, hosted at Columbia University.
Bridge Weekends is our only co-ed offering. Held once a month, January through April, each session welcomes a new group of nominated students for a focused day of exposure, connection, and hands-on learning rooted in Her Climb's four career tracks: business, journalism, STEM, and creative arts.
Rather than a single introduction, Bridge Weekends builds an ongoing relationship between our program and each participating school. Schools have multiple opportunities throughout the years to nominate the right student for the right weekend.
Who it's for?
Bridge Weekends is designed for NYC public school students nominated by their school's principal. Sessions are held separately for 8th graders and 11th graders, so each experience speaks directly to where a student actually is, 8th graders exploring possibility for the first time, and 11th graders standing at the exact moment their own college search begins.
What's included?
The Experience
Each Bridge Weekend combines two parts:
Career-Track Panels
Students hear directly from professionals and faculty across journalism and storytelling, STEM, business and entrepreneurship, creative arts, and college essay writing, mirroring Her Climb's own four-track model.
Hands-On Workshop
Every session closes with a self-portrait board workshop, where each student builds their own board and delivers a one-minute presentation it to the group. Every student walks away with a tangible finished product, a moment to be heard, and a certificate of completion.
